Hamas pledges to disband Gaza government in HUGE step for US peace plan

Hamas said on Sunday it will scrap its Gaza administration once a non‑partisan Palestinian technocratic committee takes charge under the US‑brokered peace plan — but offered no timetable for the handover.

Neither Hamas nor the rival Palestinian Authority, the Palestinians’ internationally recognised representative, has named the proposed technocrats. They are meant to be politically unaffiliated, yet it remains unclear whether Israel and the US will sign off on them.

An international “Board of Peace” chaired by Donald Trump is slated to oversee the transition and police the ceasefire that began on 10 October, including disarming Hamas and deploying an international security force. Its membership has not been revealed.

Meanwhile, the post‑ceasefire death toll in Gaza continues to climb, with Palestinian hospital officials reporting that Israeli gunfire killed three more Palestinians.
