‘He’s a crook’: Trump slashes all funding to sanctuary cities ‘protecting criminals’

US President Donald Trump has labelled Minnesota Governor Tim Walz a “crook” and called out California Governor Gavin “Newscum” for giving welfare to illegal immigrants.
The US president announced that he will cut all government funding to sanctuary states starting from February 1, 2026.
“Starting February 1, we’re not making any payments to sanctuary cities or states having sanctuary cities,” Mr Trump said.
“They do everything possible to protect criminals at the expense of American cities.
“It was a great state, now it’s getting destroyed by that stupid governor [Tim Walz], he’s a crook.”
