Former home affairs secretary Mike Pezzullo says Home Affairs must be “doing its job” appropriately.
Mr Pezzullo told Sky News Australia that if Home Affairs does its job properly, it would “reduce the chances” of a Bondi-style attack.
“If Home Affairs is both together, effective, and doing its job properly.”
