Across the world, New Year’s celebrations are in full swing.
In Auckland, crowds gathered around the city as thousands of fireworks were launched from Sky Tower and the city’s Harbour Bridge.
In South Korea, a traditional welcome for the new year, where thousands attended the ringing of a large bronze bell in Seoul.
In Hong Kong, the usual colourful fireworks display above Victoria Harbour was absent this year after at least 161 people were killed in a high-rise fire in November.
In China, following the ringing of bells and banging of drums, a light show above the Great Wall in the north of the country welcomed in the new year.
