‘Huge step forward’: UK and France commit troops to Ukraine in the event of a peace deal

The United Kingdom and France say they’ll commit troops to Ukraine in the event of a peace deal with Russia.
Leaders from the Coalition of the Willing met in Paris to sign a declaration of intent paving the way for a legal framework which will allow British and French forces to operate in Ukraine.
European leaders say the UK and France will also establish military hubs in Ukraine.
US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed negotiations over Ukraine’s security protocols are “largely finished”.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes the movement is a “huge step forward” in ending the war.
