US President Donald Trump has revealed he is taking a higher daily dose of aspirin than his doctors recommend.

President Trump’s health has been under scrutiny in recent months due to bruising on his hands and an MRI exam he received in October.

Donald Trump addressed the scrutiny around his health in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

"They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart,” Mr Trump said.
