Protesters gathered outside the Phoenix ICE field office Thursday to join a nationwide outcry following the death of Renee Nicole Good during a Wednesday enforcement operation in Minneapolis.
Rep. Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz., called for an independent investigation into the shooting, which advocates say claimed the life of a U.S. citizen.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem defended the agent’s actions, stating the officer fired in self-defense after Good allegedly attempted to ram them with a vehicle.
