A day after Oscar Belgal was shot by ICE agents while in his car with his 5-year-old son in the backseat, his attorney delivered updates on the case in a press conference.
Harold Solis, Make the Road New York’s co-legal director, said his client remains in pain and his son, "terrified," following the shooting in Marble Hill. Representatives from the organization said Belgal was treated in a Manhattan hospital under guard and his family was not allowed to see him, according to a complaint.
After federal agents took Belgal from the hospital, his lawyers spent much of the next day trying to track him down before eventually doing so. Solis outlined what next steps in the case, possibly against ICE, could occur.
