India is due to present its annual Budget on Feb 1, against a backdrop of steep US tariffs and global uncertainties. Businesses are hopeful of supportive measures, even as the government tries to keep the fiscal deficit in check. Analysts say defence, infrastructure and the digital economy may feature prominently, while the scope for populist measures could be limited. Rebecca Bundhun reports from Mumbai.
