Indonesian stocks plunge more than 7% after MSCI flags risks

The Jakarta Composite plunged nearly 9% at one point today, triggering a thirty-minute circuit breaker. The benchmark ended the day down by more than 7% after index provider MSCI warned about the market’s investability. This comes as Indonesia’s rupiah has been under sustained pressure for months, tumbling to an all-time low against the US dollar. Chandni Vatvani explains more on Indonesia’s stock market rout.
