Inside 400-mile chokepoint with nuke subs where Putin could fire hypersonic missiles at Britain

INSIDE the 400-mile Arctic chokepoint where Vladimir Putin’s ultra-quiet nuclear submarines are threatening British shores.

In this Sun Exclusive, retired Royal Navy Commander Tom Sharpe breaks down the terrifying reality of the "Bear Gap" – the critical naval gateway between Norway and Svalbard.

If Russia takes full control of this chokepoint, Putin’s advanced Yasen-class submarines could gain unrestricted access to the Atlantic Ocean, putting the UK directly in the crosshairs of hypersonic missiles.

Commander Sharpe reveals how anti-submarine warfare (ASW) is an imprecise "guessing game," relying on a complex web of satellites, seabed arrays (IUSS), maritime patrol aircraft like the P-8 Poseidon, and frigates. However, a multi-billion pound defense expenditure "black hole" has left the Royal Navy structurally under-resourced, with severely limited attack submarines currently active at sea.

Watch to find out how the UK and NATO are scrambling to counter Russia’s expanding underwater dominance, secure critical under-sea cables, and why the "underwater cat-and-mouse game" has never been more dangerous.
