Iran must abandon its nuclear program and uphold Non-Proliferation Treaty amid US talks

Former foreign minister Alexander Downer details how the US and Iran are to hold talks to ensure that Iran abandons its nuclear program and maintains its obligations under the UN Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
“I think they should be worried … they need to do a couple of things, first of all, desist from their attacks on their own people and their own protesters,” Mr Downer told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“Secondly, they need to abandon altogether their nuclear program, which they’re pursuing illegally, contrary to their obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.”
