Liberal Senator Dave Sharma says Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit to Australia provides the Jewish community with “comfort and solidarity” after the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.
“People are allowed to be against the visit, but people shouldn’t be purporting to represent the views of other people, saying the Jewish community is divided about this,” Mr Sharma told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“The Jewish community was traumatised, of course, by the Bondi terrorist attack, and they would be taking comfort and solidarity from Isaac Herzog, the President of Israel’s visit to Australia right now.”
