Israel officially recognises Somaliland

Israel has become the first country to formally recognise the Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated they will collaborate with Somaliland in sectors such as health, technology, agriculture, and the economy.
Mr Netanyahu commended Somaliland’s President for accepting an invitation to visit Israel.
Somaliland will also join the Abraham Accords, a US initiative to normalise relations between Israel and other Arab states.
Several countries, notably Somalia, Egypt, and Turkey, condemn Israel’s recognition of Somaliland.
