Japan is bracing for more heavy snow, just before its snap election. The country’s Met Agency has warned of further heavy snowfall in western and northern coastal regions. Officials are urging residents to stay alert for traffic disruptions and take precautions against avalanches. The warning was issued just before polls on Feb 8. The ruling Liberal Democratic Party is projected to score a landslide win, with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi riding a wave of youth-led popularity.
