Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has asserted that captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro will "face the consequences" of his crimes.

Noem’s comments came during a Fox News Interview with Shannon Bream.

US forces captured the Venezuelan leader and his wife, Cilia Flores, in a large-scale raid on January 3.

Maduro is currently detained in New York, indicted with Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States.

On Saturday, the president held a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, stating that he is placing the country under temporary US control.
