Lawmaker wants health department to study effects of “Trump Derangement Syndrome'” l FOX 10 Phoenix

An Arizona Republican lawmaker has introduced a bill seeking to research the effects of the so-called "Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Janae Shamp, an Arizona state senator, has introduced the "Trump Derangement Syndrome Study Act," which calls upon the Arizona Department of Health Services to study the psychological and social impacts of TDS. They would also work with mental health professionals to come up with ways to mitigate division, that Shamp says, is caused by TDS.
Will Humble, former AZDHS director, says the legislation would use up critical staff resources and create unnecessary bureaucracy.
"I didn’t see any funding associated with this bill. The bill i saw just directed the health department to do all this research on, by the way, a condition that has no definition in psychology or in medical science," he said.
Humble also said he believes if the bill is passed, Governor Katie Hobbs would likely veto it.
