Lindsey Vonn Cortina Olympics Comeback at 41

Legendary ski racer Lindsey Vonn sits down for a rare and revealing interview about her historic comeback at age 41. In what will be her final Olympics, Lindsey is competing in Cortina—the very venue that made her retirement in 2019 so painful. After life-changing knee surgery in 2024 finally relieved years of chronic pain, her body said "yes" again, giving her the opportunity to say goodbye on her own terms.

Lindsey opens up about being the oldest Olympian on Team USA and how she’s embraced a mentorship role with her much younger teammates—just like Picabo Street did for her when she was 17. She reflects on the full-circle moment of racing alongside athletes, some of whom she met as a child at a book signing. Despite being twice their age, the team chemistry is strong, and Lindsey is passing along decades of knowledge about racing the same tracks.

The interview gets deeply personal as Lindsey discusses her mother’s stroke during childbirth and how that inspires her to push through injuries and setbacks. She addresses the misconception that she’s just a glamorous figure, revealing the raw, brutal training that goes into her success. Her message is clear: age is just a number, never give up on your dreams, and make the most of every opportunity—because her mom couldn’t.
