Live: Donald Trump hosts Xi Jinping at White House dinner during China president’s state visit

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will host Chinese President Xi Jinping and first lady Peng Liyuan for a dinner at the White House on Sept. 24. The dinner comes as Trump lavished praise on Xi, who arrived in the White House bearing gifts of pandas, as simmering tensions between the two superpowers took a back seat during Xi’s first state visit in more than a decade.
