Live: Pope Leo XIV hospitalized for lung surgery on ‘localized nodule’

Pope Leo announced Oct. 11 that he will undergo surgery this week after doctors found a "localized nodule" on his lung. During his weekly Sunday prayer, the American-born pontiff said in St. Peter’s Square that the growth was "well-contained."
