A Malaysian court has on Monday (Dec 22) ruled that former prime minister Najib Razak cannot serve his six-year jail sentence at home, citing an invalid addendum order from the former king. The judge emphasised that the order did not comply with Article 42 of the Federal Constitution, leaving Najib to remain in prison until August 2028 unless pardoned by the current king. Najib’s lawyers plan to appeal the court’s decision within the next 14 days. https://cna.asia/44F8m7z
