Angus Taylor has been elected as the new leader for the Liberal Party, defeating Sussan Ley 34-17.
This comes after months of turmoil for the party, seeing them sink below One Nation in the primary vote.
Former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull appeared on ABC and labelled the incoming leader as the “best qualified idiot”, claiming that although Mr Taylor’s educational background is impressive he has not delivered “positive policy agendas”.
