Man shot dead by police after standoff on NSW Central Coast

A 49-year-old man was fatally shot by police after a six-hour standoff in Springfield, east of Gosford, NSW.
The man allegedly armed himself with a screwdriver and other sharp objects, ignited an aerosol can to burn an officer, and stabbed another officer multiple times before being shot by police.
The NSW Police homicide squad will investigate the incident.
