Israeli President Isaac Herzog is visiting Australia, prompting a major police operation across Sydney and Melbourne with 3,000 officers deployed and security measures comparable to New Year’s Eve. The visit, seen as Australia’s strongest stance against anti-Semitism, will include meetings with families of the 15 victims of the Bondi terror attack. Pro-Palestinian groups are proceeding with planned protests to coincide with Herzog’s arrival, despite police requests to alter march routes and authorities having powers to ban protests following the Bondi terror attack.
