Media fooled by Trump’s ‘massive exaggeration’ to force potential Greenland deal

Former foreign minister Alexander Downer discusses the media’s reaction to US President Donald Trump’s potential Greenland deal.
“Honestly, the media and social Democratic governments around the world, left of centre governments, always fall for the Trump trick,” Mr Downer told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“He makes statements which are a massive exaggeration of what will actually happen because he wants a deal of sorts.
“In this case, Greenland is strategically important, so what he’s done is persuade NATO to up their effort in Greenland … and everybody will be happy with that.”
