More than 200 million people are in the path of a potentially historic winter storm that could stretch over 2,000 miles, and across 40 states.

States to the north could expect several inches of snow, but for some states further south, ice from freezing rain could be a big concern. The freezing rain could also lead to long-term power outages.

"If people don’t have to be out, I encourage them to stay in, but they got to get out. Plan your route, but share that route with others in case you become stranded," said a major with the Tennessee Highway Patrol

Reporter Asher Redd has the latest, from Tennessee.
