Terrifying footage shows the moment the fatal Swiss ski resort fire erupted before killing 47 people at a tragic New Year’s celebration.

Clips from inside the bar packed with revellers show one person trying to tackle the blaze as it broke out before rapidly engulfing the ceiling.

Meanwhile, the first victim has been named as an Italian teen golfer.

Emanuele Galeppini, 17, was one of at least 47 people who died at the packed venue in Crans-Montana.
