More support to grow Singapore’s next generation of architects — from streamlined training pathways to expanded development options for those already in the field. New measures aim to strengthen the talent pipeline as the industry continues to grapple with retaining young architects amid long-standing manpower challenges. For example, relevant pre-graduation internships will count towards the practical experience needed for architect registration, which is currently at least two years. A recent survey found that only seven in 100 young graduates are likely to stay in the profession in the long run. Sabrina Ng reports.
