Naravane Book Row: Penguin Issues Another Clarification | Rahul Gandhi Slams Publisher | China

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has intensified the controversy surrounding former Army Chief General M.M. Naravane’s memoir, ‘Four Stars of Destiny’. Citing a 2023 social media post by the General stating the book was ‘available now’, Gandhi questioned the credibility of publisher Penguin Random House India. The publisher has issued a second clarification, asserting that an announced or pre-order book is not the same as a published one, and that no copies have been formally released. Gandhi, however, claimed the book is available on Amazon and suggested the delay is due to content ‘inconvenient’ for the government. Meanwhile, the BJP has accused Gandhi of misleading Parliament, citing the publisher’s statement as proof that the book has not been officially distributed. The Delhi Police has also registered an FIR regarding the alleged illegal circulation of the manuscript, further complicating the political standoff over the former Army Chief’s unpublished memoir.
