On this Special Report, the focus is on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the NDA parliamentary party meeting following a significant breakthrough in India-US trade relations. The Prime Minister highlighted that despite persistent criticism from the opposition, the government’s patient approach has successfully resulted in reciprocal tariffs being reduced to 18 per cent. Narendra Modi stated, ‘The US trade deal had created a positive environment,’ and emphasized that the focus must now shift towards boosting domestic manufacturing and ensuring the production of high-quality goods. The Prime Minister urged MPs to remain present during parliamentary proceedings and to communicate the benefits of the budget to the public, framing it as a vital step toward the ‘Viksit Bharat’ 2047 vision. The report further explores how India’s trade tariffs are now lower than those of competitors like Vietnam and Bangladesh, marking a strategic victory for Indian exports and the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.
