New space technologies boost Singapore’s ambitions beyond Earth

Singapore’s national space office is reviewing policies to ensure safe and sustainable activities as the global space economy expands. Local companies are developing technologies such as space-ready cameras and 3D printing to cut costs and speed up satellite production, while others are using low Earth orbit satellites for communications. But challenges remain, including supply chain risks, lagging demand and overcrowding in space. The Office for Space Technology and Industry is funding projects and forging partnerships to address these issues. Nasyrah Rohim reports.
