Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley said President Trump has a rare chance to deliver a “legacy‑defining” military or diplomatic blow to Iran before his presidency ends.
Haley told Fox News that Iran is weaker now than at any point in recent history and she warned that failing to act could squander US leverage.
"You can either have Obama 2.0 where you negotiate another nuclear deal and give them sanction relief and watch this whole thing happen again, or you can actually be strong and nip this in the bud so that we never have to deal with it again," Haley told Fox News host Bret Baier.
"Call it what you want. It’s the right thing to do."
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated that Tehran will not give up uranium enrichment and remains defiant in the face of US pressure.
Araghchi also warned if the United States attacks, Iran would target American military bases in the region.
