In this Special Report, anchor Preeti Choudhry examines the leadership transition within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as 45-year-old Nitin Nabin is appointed the 13th national president. Succeeding J.P. Nadda, Naveen was elected unopposed with 37 nomination papers filed in his favor, making him the youngest leader to hold the position. A four-term MLA from Bihar and former youth wing leader, Naveen rose from grassroots politics to succeed his father, Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha, in the Patna West Assembly constituency. This strategic generational shift aims to prepare the party for the 2029 general elections and upcoming state polls in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The official handover occurs in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Additionally, the report covers the removal of the Noida Authority CEO following a local fatality and the ongoing political deadlock in Mumbai regarding the BMC mayoral post involving Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and the BJP.
