‘Not to lose face’: Trump’s ‘commitment’ to Iranians necessitates US support

ASPI Senior Analyst Dr Alex Bristow claims there must be “some level” of US support following Trump’s commitment to Iranian protesters.
“Barack Obama got a lot of criticism for the way that he drew a red line in Syria and then didn’t follow through with it,” Mr Bristow told Sky News Australia.
“Now that Trump has made certain commitments to the Iranian people that they should continue protesting and that they should expect a degree of US support.
“There has to be some level of US support, I think, for him not to lose face.”
