NSW Police’s Deputy Commissioner to end 40-year career

New South Wales Police’s Deputy Commissioner has announced he will retire next month after 40 years.
Peter Thurtell joined the force in 1985 and has since worked in frontline policing and major investigations.
He will be formally farewelled with a ceremony next month.
His replacement is yet to be announced.
