Federal Parliament has resumed early for a condolence motion honouring the 15 victims of the Bondi terror attack, with politicians from both sides paying respects ahead of a vote on Labor’s hate speech legislation. New polling data shows One Nation has overtaken the Liberal Party for the first time in Australian history, with One Nation at 22% and the Liberals at 21% in primary votes, while Labor maintains a strong lead on the two-party preferred split at 55-45. The government requires support from either the Coalition or the Greens to pass the hate speech reforms, though gun reform components are expected to pass.
