‘People need it’: Trump signs executive order reclassifying cannabis as less dangerous

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to move cannabis out of the most restrictive drug category, following a poll which indicated 82 per cent of Americans strongly support legalisation.
“A lot of people need it,” Mr Trump said.
“Fortunately, I don’t want to become too involved in it because I don’t want it happening.
“I have friends that are really sick … this is something that makes them feel better.”
