The Pinal County Board of Supervisors blocked County Attorney Brad Miller’s plan to launch a joint task force with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ruling he lacked the authority to sign the federal agreement.

While the board’s decision halts the proposed field operations, the county will maintain its existing "jail enforcement model" for immigration.

This allows officials to continue questioning the citizenship of inmates and transferring undocumented individuals to federal custody. FOX 10’s Ashlie Rodriguez reports.
