During a public address in Malda, West Bengal, PM Modi called for a political shift in the state, emphasizing the need for ‘asali paribartan’ or real change. PM Modi highlighted Malda’s historical and cultural significance, paying tribute to Shivendu Shekhar Roy. The address focused on the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, asserting that the development of Eastern India is crucial for national progress. The speaker claimed that ‘Now, in Bengal, it is the turn of the government of the Indian People’s Party,’ citing recent BJP successes in Odisha, Tripura, Assam, and Bihar as evidence of a growing preference for the party in the region. PM Modi urged the audience to take a pledge for change, using the slogan ‘Palta nu dor kaar’ to signal a desire for a new administration. The programme underscored the speaker’s belief that the ‘Ganga of development’ would soon flow through Bengal under a BJP-led government.
