The Fu Ning is a full-scale replica Fuchuan, a type of wooden Ming-era naval boat. Built in Ningde, Fujian Province, this particular vessel went through years of meticulous craftsmanship – and a devastating fire – before being completed. Setting sail from China’s southeastern coast to the nations of Southeast Asia, its voyage not only revived ancient shipbuilding skills but also the living memory of the Maritime Silk Road.
