Salute to America 250 guests told to seek shelter, then evacuate DC July 4th event amid storms

Severe thunderstorm warnings and poor weather have wreaked havoc on Fourth of July celebrations along the East Coast. They included:
– Boston: Around 6:30 p.m. police asked those attending the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular to take shelter because of impending weather.
– New York: A severe thunderstorm warning is effect for New York City but events have not yet been cancelled.
– Washington, DC: Salute to America attendees on the National Mall were asked to evacuate at 7 p.m. due to approaching thunderstorms.
