Singapore resident households across all income groups have recorded real income growth over the past decade, with lower-income households seeing the strongest gains, according to a Finance Ministry paper released on Feb 9. The study also published Singapore’s wealth inequality for the first time, finding it broadly comparable to other advanced economies. Updated income measures show inequality has eased, while social mobility remains relatively strong, though early signs of slowing have emerged as the economy matures. Nadirah Zaidi reports.
