SpaceX Falcon Heavy launches NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope into space

A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket sent NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on its way Aug 30 to unlock secrets of the universe.
The Sunday morning liftoff came after earlier weather concerns placed the launch at only a 50 percent chance of favorable liftoff conditions. However, by the time SpaceX began fueling the rocket and the sun rose over the Cape, the skies had cleared for an on-time morning liftoff.
At 7:26 a.m., the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket came to life on Kennedy Space Center Pad 39A, roaring upwards with its telescope cargo. The telescope’s next stop is Sun-Earth Lagrange point 2, or L2, about 1 million miles away, where it will orbit the sun in line with Earth.
