Protestors interrupted Secretary of War Pete Hegseth during a Senate Appropriations Committee meeting Tuesday.
“Stop bombing our children in Iran and Palestine,” a protestor cried out, causing Senator Susan Collins to smack the gavel.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday said the United States has spent an estimated $37.5 billion so far on the war with Iran as the Pentagon asks Congress to authorize billions more in taxpayer dollars as the conflict drags on. Hegseth revealed the figure to the Senate Appropriations Committee as President Donald Trump seeks approval for $67 billion in emergency funding to continue the war as part of a larger $87.6 billion supplemental budget request for the Defense Department.
