After an hour trumpeting his first‑year record in a second term, US President Donald Trump stepped into the White House briefing room to take questions.

He opened by lashing the United Nations while touting his self‑styled Board of Peace.

“I wish we didn’t need a Board of Peace,” Trump said. “With all the wars I settled, the United Nations never helped me on a single one.”

Originally pitched as a small circle of world leaders to oversee a Gaza ceasefire, the Board of Peace has since ballooned into a sprawling project, with Trump inviting dozens of nations and hinting it will broker global conflicts as a shadow UN Security Council.

Trump added that he likes French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, despite both pushing back recently over his tougher posture towards Greenland.

Asked about his rapport with foreign leaders, Trump said they “get a little bit rough” when he’s not around, but “when I’m around they treat me very nicely.”

Calling Macron “a friend of mine,” he added that both left‑leaning leaders “have got to straighten out their countries.”

Pressed on how far he would go to acquire Greenland, Trump replied, “You’ll find out.”
