Sydney hospital becomes surgery mega hub | 7NEWS

Northern Beaches Hospital in Sydney is being transformed into the state’s first high-volume surgery hub, with capacity to perform an additional 5,000 operations annually starting July 1. The announcement has been supported by the Massa family, who have campaigned for the hospital’s transfer to public hands following the death of their son, little Joe. Patients will be referred from across the state for day surgery procedures to help reduce elective surgery waiting lists.
