Hundreds of police officers were deployed to Sydney Town Hall on Friday evening as pro-Palestine demonstrators gathered, testing NSW’s newly introduced anti-protest laws.
Various groups say the new measures, introduced after Australia’s worst terror attack, are draconian.
NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon is expected to make a decision on extending protest restrictions before the protest ban expires next week.
