Tenants at Cuppage Terrace say business has slowed sharply, with quieter evenings and weekends after nearby offices moved out. The row of 17 adjoining Peranakan conservation shophouses tucked in Orchard Road was put up for sale on Jan 19. Analysts say a potential sale, alongside the partial collective sale of The Centrepoint, could pave the way for a broader redevelopment that may help restore Orchard Road’s former buzz.
