The UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and China’s President Xi Jinping have announced a new era of cooperation between the two countries.
British citizens will be able to travel to China for up to a month without a visa, and China has agreed to halve tariffs on British whiskey, potentially saving the UK hundreds of millions of dollars.
The move marks a diplomatic reset after years of strained relations, with Starmer being the first British PM to visit China in eight years.
While concerns over human rights and the spying scandals remain, the leaders aim to build a ‘long-term and consistent comprehensive strategic partnership’ to benefit both economies.
