‘They can’t agree who’s next’: Liberal Party trapped in leadership limbo ‘chaos’

Sky News host Peta Credlin discusses the future for the Liberal Party as Andrew Hastie and Angus Taylor hold a private meeting amid growing speculation about Sussan Ley’s leadership.
“If she survives, it’s just that they can’t agree on who’s next,” Ms Credlin said.
“If Sussan Ley names new shadow ministers to replace the departed National Party ones, that will entrench the split and put off the reconciliation that’s needed. And it will mean dozens of staff will be sacked, adding to the chaos and disruption.
“But if she goes into parliament without filling a dozen shadow portfolios, and with the Nationals sitting apart, an unworthy and incompetent government will spend Question Time mocking the opposition, rather than having to justify its own policies and the damage they are doing, on energy and the economy in particular.”
